PART – I

P R O M O T I O N

                         The following Senior Tax Assistant of Central Excise and Customs are hereby promoted to the grade of Inspector Gr. ‘B’ Non-Gazetted in the Pay Band of Rs. 9300-34800 and Grade Pay of 4600 (Revised) with effect from the date they assume charges of higher post at their places of postings with immediate effect and until further orders:

             However, this promotion is subject to the final outcome of the SLP CC No.11987/2008-UOI & Ors. Vs. Awadesh Kumar & ors. In the Supreme Court.           

            The seniority of the above officers in the grade of Inspector will be fixed in the order shown above. 

            They are hereby asked to exercise option within one month from the date of promotion as to whether their initial pay should be fixed in the higher post on the basis of FR 22 (I) (a) (1) straightway without any further review on accrual of increment in the pay scale of the lower post or their pay on promotion should be fixed initially in the manner as provided under FR 22 (a) (i) which may be refixed under the provisions of FR 22 (I) (a) (1) on the date of accrual of next increment in the scale of pay of lower post. Option once exercised shall be final. 

                        In the event of refusal of promotion they would be debarred from promotion for a period of one year. 

NOTE:   In the event of reversion of any officer(s) who is/are on deputation, or in the event of any Court’s order the junior most officer(s) in the above promotion order will be reverted.

PART – II

TRANSFER AND POSTING

             On promotion, all the officers are retained at their present place of posting. Posting Order will follow.
