Subject: - Establishment promotion, transfer and posting in the grade of

     Deputy Office Superintendent  -  Order regarding.

PART – I

AD-HOC  P R O M O T I O N

            The following Senior Tax Assistants of Central Excise and Customs, Shillong Zone are hereby promoted to the grade of Deputy Office Superintendent  purely on ad hoc basis in the scale of pay of Rs. 5500-175-9000 (Pre-revised)  with effect from the date they assume charges of higher post at their places of postings shown in Part II.

            Besides, the above promotion does not confer on the officer so promoted any right or claim for continued officiation in the grade of Deputy Office Superintendent and the period of such services will not count toward seniority in the grade of Deputy Office Superintendent or as qualifying service for any further promotion.

            This promotion is in pursuance of CBEC’s letter F.No. A-32018/14-A/2007-Ad.III-A dated 29.07.2008 and the department reserves the right to cancel at any time the said ad hoc promotion and revert the officers to the post from which they have been promoted.

             They are hereby asked to exercise option within one month from the date of promotion as to whether their initial pay should be fixed in the higher post on the basis of FR 22 (I) (a) (1) straightway without any further review on accrual of increment in the pay scale of the lower post or their pay on promotion should be fixed initially in the manner as provided under FR 22 (a) (i) which may be re-fixed under the provisions of FR 22 (I) (a) (1) on the date of accrual of next increment in the scale of pay of lower post. Option once exercised shall be final.

 PART – II

TRANSFER AND POSTING

            On promotion, all the officers are retained at their present places of postings.

             All the above officers should join the new post latest by 31st January 2009. The Controlling Officers are directed to send compliance report by 31st January 2009 positively including the names of the officers who have declined to opt for promotion.

             This issues with the approval of the Commissioner, Central Excise, Shillong.
